A developer filed plans to tear down the one-story church at 228 Vanderbilt Ave. and replace it with a four-story apartment building.

CLINTON HILL, NY — A developer plans to tear down a one-story church on Vanderbilt Avenue to build an apartment building in its place, New York YIMBY first reported.
JV Capital filed plans this week to build the four-story mixed-use building at 228 Vanderbilt Ave. that will have seven apartments inside and a 2,341-square-foot community facility, city records show.
The 45-foot-tall building will replace the one-story structure currently on the lot that was originally built in 1925. The space used to be occupied by the Refuge Temple church.
