Brooklyn Hospital To Sell Fort Greene Building For $100M: Reports

Rabsky Group is in contract to buy the 240 Willoughby St. medical building for $100 million, Crain's reported.

FORT GREENE — Brooklyn Hospital agreed to sell their Willoughby Street building overlooking Fort Greene Park to a developer for about $100 million, Crain's New York reported.

The medical center is in contract with developer Rabsky Group to sell the 240 Willoughby St. building, which houses their Family Medicine Center, along with the parking garage next door for an undisclosed amount, Crain's reported.

The sale relies on the Rabsky being able to increase the zoning on the site to build more residential units than currently allowed, with most of them planned to be luxury apartments, according to Crain's

Brooklyn Hospital did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the sale.

The Willoughby Street building, called the Maynard Building, was originally put up for sale in 2016 with the hospital planning to use the money to build new facilities on its campus, according to Crain's
