Fort Greene Property on the Market for $10M

Artist David Salle has put his Hanson Place home/studio on the market for $10 million, which if sold, would be a neighborhood record for a residential sale, according to the New York Times.

The property consists of two buildings: a four-story gray townhouse and a three-story red brick building that was once a Masonic Lodge. Together the space is 10,560 square feet, with four bedrooms, four-and-a-half baths, three terraces, a gym, private garage and an artist’s loft.

“It’s a one-of-a-kind property,” Patty LaRocco, a senior vice president of Town Residential told the Times. “We’re asking just under $1,000 a square foot because it’s so beautiful and would be so expensive to build from the ground up.”

The building is on a corner lot a few blocks from the Brooklyn Academy of Music and the Barclays Center. Salle told the Times he purchased it about a decade ago.

According to the property listing, the space has a fireplace, eat-in kitchen, dining room, terrace and private garden.

As for the taxes on a 10,000-square-foot-plus property in New York City? That'll be $3,229 a month, according to realtors at Town Residential.
