The affordable housing lottery is the latest step to prepare the Ingersoll Residences to open in the fall. The New York City Housing Authority, the agency that owns the land, and the nonprofit Services and Advocacy for GLBT Elders started building the 145-unit complex back in 2017.
Along with its companion complex in the Bronx, Crotona Park, the building is the first subsidized housing units in New York City intended specifically for LGBT elders. Sign-up for affordable units in Crotona Park has not started yet.
