Fall Benefit Yard Sale: The Tanners Pond Environmental Center/ Garden City Bird Sanctuary is sponsoring a fall outdoor Benefit Yard Sale Saturday, Sept.
7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Rain date is Saturday, Sept. 14.) Click here for more details.
Blood Drive: The Long Island Volunteer Center and the Firefighters Museum
in Garden City is hosting its third annual blood drive commemorating Sept.
11th as a day of remembrance. The drive will take place Sept. 9 at the museum. Check back for more details.
Sept. 11 Memorial Services: The Garden City Fire Department will conduct a Sept. 11, 2001 remembrance service beginning at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11 on the Village Green (corner of Hilton and Stewart avenues) at the Village Memorial. Formal services are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
St. Anne's Spirit Day: The Church of St. Anne in Garden City will host its 11th annual Spirit Day on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 1-10 p.m. Click here for more details.
POA Meetings: Garden City's four property owners' associations will all reconvene in September:
- CPOA: The next general meeting of the Central Property Owners' Association will be held Tuesday, Sept. 10, at the senior center on Golf Club Lane beginning at 8 p.m.
- Estates: The next general meeting of the Property Owners' Association of Garden City Estates will be held Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Stratford School beginning at 8 p.m.
- WPOA: The next general meeting of the Western Property Owners' Association will be held Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Homestead School beginning at 7:30 p.m.
- East: The next meeting of the Eastern Property Owners' Association will be held Tuesday, Sept. 17, at the Golf Club Lane senior center beginning at 7:30 p.m. (POA board only)
