2 Charged In Robbery Of Walmart In Nassau Police
It happened on Tuesday evening at the Jerusalem Avenue store.
UNIONDALE, NY — Two people were arrested for a robbery at Walmart in Uniondale on Tuesday evening, police said.
Officers spotted Anya Slater, 20, in a physical altercation with three Walmart employees at the Jerusalem Avenue store as she tried to steal merchandise, police said.
She resisted arrest and an electronic control device was activated, authorities said.

Slater was brought to an area hospital for assessment, police said.
A short time later, a second person, Thomas Belajonas, 21, of North Merrick, fled the scene, police said. He was found at the intersection of Jerusalem Avenue and Jerusalem Road in East Meadow where he was placed under arrest without incident.

Slater and Belajonas are charged with second-degree robbery. Slater was also charged with three counts of third-degree assault and resisting arrest, police said.
Both will be arraigned on Wednesday.
