Nearly 400 guests packed the grand ballroom of the Garden City Hotel April 19 to celebrate the 11th annual Pineapple Ball, acknowledged as Garden City’s premier business and social event.
The gala event honored “Citizen of the Year” Anthony (Tony) P. Randi, D.D.S., founder and chair of the Jay Gallagher Memorial lacrosse tournament; Diane Chapman, “Community Achievement Award” recipient; and “Businesspersons of the Year” Dale Brokaw, Jan McDonough and Lois Tighe, partners of the Pear Tree Shoppe.
Additionally, Edward W. Blatz, Jr. was recognized as the winner of the “Althea Robinson Excellence in Business Education Scholarship” awarded by the Chamber of Commerce Foundation, philanthropic arm of the chamber.
Following the presentation to these remarkable individuals, guests danced the night away to the music of the renowned Alex Donner Orchestra.
