3 Men Shoot Fireworks From Vehicle On Meadowbrook Pkwy.: Police

They were lit just after 2 a.m. from the vehicle's sunroof, police said.

WESTBURY, NY — Three men were arrested early Monday for shooting fireworks from a vehicle's sunroof on the Meadowbrook Parkway, police said.

Frederick Taveras Hernandez, 19, of Hempstead; Justin Padilla, of Hempstead; and Fernando Aristides, 19, of Uniondale, were placed into custody without incident after stopping the vehicle just after 2 a.m., police said.

Police had stopped them in the vicinity of Exit M2.

All three men are charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and unlawfully possessing fireworks. Hernandez was also issued numerous traffic summons. Each man was issued an appearance ticket to return on July 30 at First District Court in Hempstead.

The Nassau County Police Department reminds its residents that the use ofexplosives, including fireworks, is illegal and extremely dangerous.
