4 Arrested In Drug, Prostitution Investigation: Nassau Police

Nassau police say they found drugs and active prostitution when they investigated the home.

HEMPSTEAD, NY — Four men were arrested on April 14 during an investigation into drugs and prostitution in the area, Nassau County police said.

According to police, a joint investigation between the Narcotics/Vice Squad, Special Victims Squad, Gang Investigation Squad and the Nassau County District Attorney's Office led to the search of a home on Baldwin Road in Hempstead around 3 p.m. on April 14.

Police say they arrested four people: Walter Reyes, 39, of Hempstead; Jose Cortez, 50, of Queens; Marlon Mendoza, 53, of Hempstead; and Noe Mendez, 42, of Hempstead.

Reyes and Cortez are both charged with third-degree promoting prostitution. Mendoza was charged with third- and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Mendez was charged with third-degree patronizing a prostitute.

Reyes, Cortez and Mendoza were arraigned on April 15 in First District Court in Hempstead. Mendez was issued an appearance ticket.
