Five Places (Besides the Library) To Read A Book
Where's your favorite outdoor spot to enjoy a summer read in Garden City?

Can't put down that summer read? Hoping to catch up on a few more chapters during your lunch break?
Here are five places (besides the Garden City Public Library) to read a book outdoors in Garden City:
The Garden City Bird Sanctuary: The nine-acre nature preserve located on Tanners Pond Road has benches along many of its serene walking trails, many of which are dedicated to village residents.
The Village Green: Home to outdoor summer concerts, the annual holiday tree lighting and the September 11, 2001 remembrance ceremony, the Village Green has numerous benches, also many of which are dedicated to village residents, to rest your feet and read - or reflect.
The Gazebo: The gazebo next to the war memorial on Seventh Street could be a nice spot to lose yourself in a good book, perhaps one you just borrowed from the Garden City Public Library, which is just feet away.
New Pergola on Seventh Street: A newly installed pergola on Seventh Street, in front of Chico's and Sugarplum, offers seating all around. Landlord Elias Properties built the structure. New plantings add to the ambiance that is Seventh Street.
Garden City Pool: Enjoy your summer read near the water at the Garden City Pool, which has new outdoor furniture, including resin chaise lounges with cushions, for its members.
