A Queens man was arrested in the parking lot of Dick's Sporting Goods Wednesday after he tried to sell pills to undercover detectives, according to Nassau County Narcotics/Vice Bureau detectives.
According to police, Michael Ohara, 24, of Bayside, advertised on Craigslist that he had "anxiety pills" for sale. After making contact with Ohara, investigating detectives set up a meeting in the parking lot of Dick's at Roosevelt Field Mall in E. Garden City, police said.
After Ohara produced 30 yellow bars believed to be Alprazolam, a controlled substance, he was arrested without incident at 5:15 p.m.
As detectives attempted to secure the defendant’s vehicle, they observed a pill bottle which contained an additional amount of bars, also believed to be Alprazolam, according to the police report.
Ohara was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance, 5th degree, and is slated to be arraigned Thursday in First District Court, Hempstead.
