Crash Sends Car into Church Parking Lot

One vehicle smashed into the fence at St. Anne's and came to rest atop two parked cars Easter Sunday.

While St. Anne's parishioners were celebrating Easter Sunday Mass, a collision on New Hyde Park Road caused one driver to come to rest atop two parked cars in the church parking lot, according to police.

A 75-year-old Stewart Manor woman was driving her vehicle southbound on New Hyde Park Road and attempted a left turn on to Fairmount Blvd. when she was in collision with a vehicle driven by a 76-year-old Garden City resident traveling northbound. The first vehicle then struck the fence to the St. Anne's parking field and struck two parked cars, village police report.

There were no injuries reported.
