Crime Blotter: Underage Drinking, Aggressive Driving
A look at this week's alleged crimes, reported by the Garden City Police Department.

Aug. 28: A locked bicycle was stolen from the south side of the Nassau Boulevard Train Station.
Aug. 28: A bicycle was stolen from the front lawn of a Hayes Street residence.
Aug. 29: Officer Laurita arrested a male 22-year-old from South Floral Park on Nassau Boulevard for driving with nine open driver license suspensions, unlicensed operation, uninsured vehicle and a defective headlight.

Aug. 29: A bicycle was reported stolen from the Adelphi University campus.
Aug. 30: Officer Wehr stopped a female 35-year-old from Franklin Square for driving on Stewart Avenue and Hampton Road at 52 MPH in a 30-MPH zone. The subject was placed under arrest after it was determined that she had three open driver license suspensions. She was also charged with speeding, and uninsured operation.

Aug. 30: Officer Oswald stopped a motorist on Nassau Boulevard for excessively blowing his horn and making an unsafe lane change. The driver, a male 25-year-old from Wilton, Ct., was arrested for DWI (.11 percent blood alcohol content), unnecessary use of a horn, unsafe lane change and uninsured operation.
Aug. 30: A side window to a vehicle parked at a Rockaway Avenue residence was damaged and a pocketbook inside the vehicle was taken. A window to a vehicle parked at the Cherry Valley Club was found damaged. Loose change and personal items were removed from a vehicle parked at the Garden City Community Park.
Aug. 30: The department is investigating the theft of $200 in merchandise from Lord & Taylor.
Aug. 31: Officer Oswald stopped a vehicle on St James Street South for weaving from lane to lane, and reckless driving. The subject was placed under arrest for DWI (refused test), two lane violations, reckless driving and not wearing a seatbelt. He was also charged with felony criminal mischief after he kicked out the window, damaging the door frame to the arresting officer’s patrol car.
Aug. 31: Upon responding to a report for disorderly youths on Osborne Road, a 17-year old was issued an appearance ticket for the possession of five cans of beer.
Sept. 1: Officer Petraglia stopped a male 55-year-old from Elmont on Stewart Avenue for aggressive driving. The subject was arrested and charged with DWI (refused test), speeding, unsafe lane change, possession of a controlled substance and uninsured operation.
Sept. 1: A pocketbook was removed from a vehicle parked at a Hilton Road residence.
Sept. 1: A vehicle parked in Field 6E was found damaged; scratches were found on the hood and sides of the vehicle.
Sept. 2: Garden City detectives arrested a male 48-year-old from Flushing for aggravated harassment after making numerous harassing phone calls to a female victim at her Garden City office.
Sept. 3: A bicycle was reported stolen from the south side of the Garden City railroad station.
Sept. 3: A Seventh Street resident reports that someone used their identity to transfer funds from her bank account to an unauthorized account.
