Drunken Crash Into Tree Kills Passenger On LI: Police
Christhian Velasquez-Geleano faces charges of vehicular manslaughter and DWI, police said.

GARDEN CITY, NY — A man was killed when a car crashed into a tree early Sunday in Garden City, police said.
Just before 5 a.m., a 2007 Nissan struck the tree on Stewart Avenue at Nassau Boulevard. The driver fled on foot, but was picked up a short time later by Garden City Police.
A rear passenger, Marco Antonio Zuniga, 27, of Long Beach, was brought to a hospital with severe body trauma. He was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.

It was determined that Christhian Velasquez-Geleano, 28, of Long Beach, was driving under the influence of alcohol, police said. Velasquez-Geleano was arrested and charged with DWI, vehicular manslaughter and second-degree vehicular manslaughter, authorities said.
He was scheduled for arraignment on Monday.
