Drunken Driving Crash Into Vacant Westbury Building: Police

WESTBURY, NY — A Wantagh man was arrested for a DWI during the overnight hours of Thursday, police said.

Aidan Schwartz, 21, who was driving a 2019 Honda Civic, collided with a vacant building in Westbury, authorities said.

He was removed from the building and taken into custody. Schwartz was driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle and was charged with driving while intoxicated, police said. He was taken to an area hospital for minor injuries and will be arraigned when medically practical.

The building sustained extensive damage and the Town of North Hempstead Building Department, along with PSEG Long Island, responded.
