EPOA Meeting to Focus on Hempstead Redevelopment

Sean McLean, vice president of planning for Renaissance Downtowns, will serve as the keynote speaker.

The Eastern Property Owners' Association's (EPOA) June meeting will focus on the revitalization of downtown Hempstead known as the Hempstead Renaissance project.

Sean McLean, vice president of planning for Renaissance Downtowns, will serve as the keynote speaker for the evening. He will provide an overview of the Hempstead Renaissance project, designed to transform Hempstead’s downtown into a "vibrant mixed-use, walkable neighborhood."

This presentation will provide the EPOA with a more in-depth understanding of this project and encourage questions from audience members about the current status and future plans, according to Judy Courtney, EPOA president.

An update on other village issues, including recent policy changes at the Garden City Public Library and HUB activity, will also be discussed. Trustees from Recreation and the Village Board will also provide information and answer audience questions.

The meeting will take place Monday, June 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the Stewart School auditorium.
