'Fearing For His Life', Man Robbed At Gunpoint On Long Island: PD

3 teens have been arrested in connection with what was believed to be a gunpoint robbery, police say.

EAST GARDEN CITY, NY — Three teenagers were arrested after what was believed to be a gunpoint robbery Monday in East Garden City, police said.

According to Nassau County police, the incident took place at 11:20 p.m., when a 56-year-old man, walking in the vicinity of a parking garage near Macy's, was approached by three teens.

One of the teens pulled out a gun and demanded the man's money; the man, "fearing for his life," complied and handed over his money, police said.

The three teens fled the scene, police said.

Third Precinct officers conducted a thorough investigation and located the teens, ages 17, 16 and 15, on a NICE bus at the Ring Road NICE bus terminal; they were placed into police custody without incident, police said.

An imitation firearm was recovered and no injuries were reported, police said.

All three juveniles were arrested and charged with first-degree robbery; second-degree robbery; and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

They were scheduled for arraignment Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
