First Day of School, Fine Art Exhibit This Week
What's on tap this week in Garden City.

First Week of School: Garden City public and private schools will welcome back students on Tuesday, Sept. 3. There will be a Welcome Back Mass and Breakfast beginning at 9 a.m. at St. Anne's School. All families are invited to a 9 a.m. Opening Liturgy in St. Joseph's Church on Friday, Sept. 6. Garden City public schools will be closed Thursday and Friday, Sept. 5-6, in observance of Rosh Hashanah.
Rosh Hashanah: Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown on Wednesday, Sept. 4. Check back for a schedule of high holiday services.
Fine Art Exhibit: Fine art photography by Stephen Bitel will be exhibited Sept. 3–28, 2013 in the Garden City Public Library’s gallery. Click here for details.
Benefit Yard Sale: The Tanners Pond Environmental Center/ Garden City Bird Sanctuary is sponsoring its fall outdoor Benefit Yard Sale on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Rain date is Saturday, Sept. 14.) Click here for more details.
Piano Concert at Adelphi: Pianist Jeffrey Marcus will play works of Bach, Schubert, Brahms, and the World Premiere Seven Bagatelles by Peter Winkler Sunday beginning at 8 p.m. in Adelphi's Performing Arts Center Concert Hall. For tickets or information, call (631) 689-5281.
