Food Drive Continues, Back-to-School Bash This Week

What's on tap in Garden City.

Food Drive Continues: The Garden City Public Library's summer food drive continues through Aug. 29. There's a collection box in the lobby entrance for the public to contribute non-perishable items.

Back-to-School Bash: The annual "Back-to-School Bash" at the Garden City Public Library will be held Wednesday, Aug. 28, 6-7:30 p.m. The invitation-only event is for young adults who submitted at least one book review in the Summer Reading Club and for volunteers who participated in the Teens and 'Tweens Storytime program at the GC Pool.

Friday Night Promenade: The Friday Night Promenade initiative continues Friday on Seventh Street beginning at 6 p.m. Musical acts will be announced later this week.

Solo Circus: National Circus Project continues to share the fun and artistry of the circus with Lon Island Children's Museum Theater audiences. The show is appropriate for children ages 3 and up. Fee: $5 with museum admission ($4 LICM members), $10 Theater only. Click here for more info.
