Franklin Square Bank Robbed at Gunpoint

A man robbed a the bank Tuesday morning, cops said.

A Franklin Square bank was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday morning, according to Nassau County Police.

At 9:20 a.m., a man approached two female tellers at Chase Bank, located at 654 Franklin Avenue, cops said. The man revealed a gun and demanded money from the tellers, who cooperated and handed him an unknown amount of cash, police said. He then fled through a rear door and headed north, cops said.

Six employees and three customers were inside the bank at the time, authorities said. No one was reportedly injured.

Police said the man was black, 20-30 years old, between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot-1, and weighed about 170 pounds. He was wearing a long sleeved shirt with wide black and blue stripes, a Brooklyn Nets baseball cap, and a blue bandana that partially covered his face, cops said.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Nassau County Police at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
