GARDEN CITY, NY — Garden City High School senior Jenny Zheng has been selected to the National Association for Music Education’s All-National Concert Band as a piccolo performer. This prestigious recognition is presented to some of the nation’s most talented high school musicians and provides them with an opportunity to work with highly regarded conductors.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s All-National Honor Ensembles program will be held virtually in January. Conductor Travis Cross will lead the Concert Band in several rehearsals, and the ensemble will create a recorded performance that will be premiered during Music In our Schools Month. All-National students will also have opportunities to attend clinics and workshops with esteemed musicians.

Earlier this year, Jenny received two letters of acceptance for the New York State School Music Association’s All-State ensembles. She will play the piccolo in the All-State Symphonic Orchestra and was selected as an alternate flutist. A member of the high school’s wind ensemble, she has participated in All-County in previous years and also plays the piano.
