GARDEN CITY, NY — The Garden City School District appointed Lauren Quezada as the new assistant principal of the Stratford School.

Since 2019, Quezada has served as the K-12 instructional coach for Freeport Public Schools. For the past 13 years, she has also been a reading specialist, ELA lead teacher and general education teacher for both Freeport Public Schools and the New York City Department of Education.

Quezada established a strong foundation in curriculum development and implementation, teacher development and school leadership. She identified instructional strategies that highlight strengths and address areas of need. She believes that the power of literacy encompasses all and created the K-6 Cross Curricular Pacing Guides, which helped align instruction in ELA content areas.
