Garden City Memorial Day Parade Set For May 30

Residents can come out and support the groups marching, and then take part in a ceremony afterward.

GARDEN CITY, NY — Garden City will celebrate Memorial Day on May 30 with a parade through the village, followed by a ceremony.

The parade, led by the William Bradford Turner American Legion Post No. 265 will begin assembling at 9 a.m. and step off at 10 a.m. Marchers will assemble on Cherry Valley Avenue, between Stewart Avenue and 10th Street, then march east on 10th Street to southbound Franklin Avenue, then east to 7th Street. The parade will end at the 7th Street gazebo in front of the Garden City Hotel.

The ceremony will follow the parade.

Additionally, the Long Island Chapter of the 42nd Division Association will hold a Memorial Day observance at the 42nd Division monument located at Clinton Road and St. James Street South on May 28 at noon.
