Garden City School Budget Approved, Incumbent Trustee Ousted

GARDEN CITY, NY — Voters in the Garden City School District took to the polls today and approved the district's proposed 2022-23 budget.

The budget passed 2,764 to 823.

Residents also voted on two ballot propositions. The first, to use the existing capital reserve fund, was approved 2,865 to 662. The second, to create a new capital reserve fund, was approved 2,584 to 654.

In addition to the budget, residents also cast votes for Board of Education trustees. Arthur Gnecco defeated incumbent William Holub 2,132 to 1,311. William o'Donohue defeated Colleen Foley for an empty seat, 2,119 to 1,373. And Joseph Sileo, who was running unopposed, earned 2,676 votes.
