Garden City Village Board Agenda: May 16

See what the village's board of trustees will be discussing at tonight's meeting.

A public hearing on Adelphi University's application to construct a new two and three story "Nexus" building on the northwest portion of its Garden City campus, the adoption of a salary schedule for village part-time and seasonal employees, renewal of the street lighting maintenance contract and the approval of additional contract work for Sandy repairs are among the many topics included on tonight's Garden City village board agenda.

Trustees are also expected to fix a date for a public hearing on a "local law to regulate business hours."

As part of General Communications Poplar Street resident Bill Bellmer submitted a letter regarding non-resident parking at the Stewart Manor train station, as did a Kilburn Road South resident. Further, Hilton Avenue resident Thomas McDonald submitted a letter asking the board to reverse its decision to close the Garden City Public Library on Sundays.

The meeting begins at 8 p.m. in the village hall boardroom. All residents are encouraged to attend.
