Item of the Week from the A.T. Stewart Exchange: Eastlake Butler's Chest
An Eastlake Butler's Chest from the 1890s made of solid walnut is in the spotlight this week.

This week's feature from The A.T. Stewart Exchange is an Eastlake Butler's Chest. This is an exceptional piece of furniture! It dates from the 1890s and is solid walnut. The chest has six drawers plus the small jewelry drawer at the very top. It measures 57"H x 40"W x 19"D and has all the original hardware. One drawer opens to a desk top. This item is priced at $450.
Our accessories include a vanity jar priced at $24, a single rose in glass vase for $12.50, an old ship's model at $30, bronze chariot for $20 and the large Italian vase, offered for $62.50. On the desk, we feature a single, brass candlestick for $5 and an antique inkwell for $40. All items are available at the time of posting.
The A.T. Stewart Exchange (consignment shop), located on the lower level of The Garden City Historical Society, offers unique items for sale and is run by volunteers. Founded in 1975, The Garden City Historical Society is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. All profits go to the restoration of the Museum. The shop is located at 109 Eleventh Street in Garden City, just west of Franklin Avenue, 746-8900. It is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
