Items Stolen On Mutiple Occasions From Adelphi University: Police
Austin Withers faces charges that include grand larceny and burglary, police said.
GARDEN CITY, NY — A Hempstead man was arrested over the weekend for stealing items on multiple occasions from Adelphi University, police said.
Austin Withers, 28, was inside the university's library at 2:45 p.m, on Saturday when he was spotted removing a wallet, without permission, containing assorted credit cards and papers, authorities said.
Withers assumed another identity to make purchases at the Jamaica train station, police said.

An investigation revealed that Withers, while inside the University Center at Adelphi on June 18, removed an Apple Air Pod valued at $250. On July 31, Withers entered a building on Stewart Avenue and stole credit cards from a desk, which he later used to make purchases, police said.
Withers was placed into custody on August 24, as detectives found him at his residence.

He is charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, third-degree burglary, two counts of petty larceny, second-degree identity theft and two counts of criminal possession of stolen property.
Withers was arraigned in First District Court on Sunday.
