Loaded Gun, Drugs Found During Traffic Stop: Nassau Police
Police say a routine traffic stop led to the discovery of the weapon and Oxycodone pills.
UNIONDALE, NY — A Nassau man was arrested on Sunday after Nassau County police say they found a gun and drugs in his car during a traffic stop in Uniondale.
According to police, officers saw a 2019 Toyota Camry drive through a stop sign at the intersection of Northern Parkway and Nassau Road at 1:07 a.m. The officers pulled the car over, and during their investigation, police say they found a loaded .380 caliber pistol and 59 pills of Oxycodone.
The driver, Lashamel Walker, 20, of Hempstead, was arrested without incident.

Walker was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance: intent to sell, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and multiple vehicle and traffic violations.
He was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on July 3, and ordered held on bail of $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond, which was not posted.
