Long Island's Best Public High Schools: 2022 Rankings Released

LONG ISLAND, NY — Niche.com just released its 2022 rankings of the best public high schools in the country, and Long Island is well represented among the top.

Niche's 2022 rankings factored in academic and student life data from thousands of schools across the country. The most important factor was academics, but Niche also looked at culture and diversity, teachers, clubs and activities, sports and more. You can read more about Niche's methodology here.

The top-ranked public high school in the country was The Davidson Academy, located in Reno, Nevada. The best school in New York was Stuyvesant High School, which was ranked No. 11 nationally.

Jericho Senior High School was the best school on Long Island. It placed No. 27 nationally.

There were seven Long Island schools that made it into the top 100 best schools in the nation. Many more were listed among the best in New York state. They are:
