George P. Bush will speak about “The Future of the Republican Party” on Wednesday, April 10 at 2 p.m. in Nassau Community College’s College Center Building.
George P. Bush is the eldest of the three children of former Florida Governor Jeb Bush; the nephew of 43rd president of the United States George W. Bush; and the grandson of 41st president of the United States George H.W. Bush.
During his speech, Bush will share the lessons he’s learned from a long family history of public service, as well as his experience as a bi-racial individual working to increase Hispanic Americans’ involvement in politics.
George P. Bush’s political activities include working on the numerous campaigns of his grandfather, father and uncle. He maintains his passion for politics through his current positions as chairman of MAVPAC, a political action committee focused on engaging younger Americans in the political process; and chairman and co-founder of Hispanic Republicans of Texas — the first Texas-based political action committee that identifies, recruits and supports candidates for Texas state political offices.
Bush is a graduate of Rice University and Texas School of Law. He co-founded Pennypacker Capital, which invests in and operates middle market, multi-family retail, office and industrial assets in the four major Texas markets. Bush has also been involved in a variety of nonprofit organizations, including a $30 million capital campaign for Big Brothers Big Sisters in north Texas and the Dallas/Fort Worth Celebration of Reading.
