A female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead early Friday evening.
The woman was allegedly crossing the roadway in an area outside the marked crosswalk was she was struck by a small sedan.
The driver immediately stopped to offer assistance.
The injured pedestrian was transported to Winthrop Hospital by West Hempstead Fire Department ambulance.
The extent of her injuries was unknown.
