New Mayor, Trustees Take the Oath Tonight
John Watras, Robert Bolebruch and Richard Silver will swear in during ceremonies Monday at village hall.
At the annual organizational meeting April 1 new mayor John Watras (West) and trustees Robert Bolebruch (West) and Richard Silver (Central) will officially take their oaths of office.
Silver said serving as trustee is an opportunity for him to make a contribution to the village and build on the legacy of service of so many people who have volunteered their time, talent and energy.
"It is both humbling and exciting for me," he said.
Bolebruch, who's called Garden City home for 18 years, considers the opportunity to serve this "great community" an honor. "I look forward to working with the other trustees on the various challenges that our village faces. Most importantly, I will listen to every resident's opinion and value all of their comments on every subject," he said.
As mayor John Watras said he vows to listen and be supportive. "I'm going to get things done, period. It's not going to be a 'gotcha administration.' We're going to work together. I'm looking forward to working with the existing trustees and the new trustees coming on," he said. "I believe that we're going to get a lot of issues taken care of and energize executive staff that much more to accomplish our goals."
Swearing in ceremonies kick off at 8 p.m. in the village hall boardroom.
