Pickup Truck Flips, Strikes Light Pole

A pickup truck flipped over on Nassau Boulevard in Garden City early Wednesday afternoon.

The truck left the roadway just north of Cambridge Avenue, struck a light pole and overturned on its side, according to a witness at the scene who said the driver appeared shaken but not seriously injured.

Garden City police and fire department personnel were on the scene, as was Nassau County ESU and EMS. The Franklin Square Fire Department was also at the scene as the accident was on the border of its district.
