Police Blotter: Home Burglaries, Drugs Stolen from Walgreens
See what crimes and other incidents were reported this week in Garden City.

The following arrest information was supplied by the Garden City Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
June 12: An Apple iPad 2 was stolen from a vehicle parked at the Garden City Hotel.
June 13: Officers responded to several calls for assistance related to heavy rain including flooding on Nassau Boulevard and a tree down on Tremont Street.

June 13: A Euston Road resident was the victim of identity theft. Garden City detectives are investigating $3,000 in fraudulent charges to the victim’s account.
June 13: A Meadbrook Road resident reported the theft of two UPS packages from in front of her residence.

June 13: The department is investigating an auto accident that occurred in the vicinity of Washington Avenue and Courthouse Road involving a vehicle that left the scene of an accident.
June 14: Two license plates were stolen from a vehicle parked at 100 Supreme Court Dr.
June 14: Garden City detectives arrested a Garden City man, 30, for possession of a controlled substance after observing the subject sitting in his vehicle in Parking Field 9E, attempting to light a pipe containing crack/cocaine.
June 15: A home on Salisbury Avenue was burglarized by two subjects, who entered the residence by cutting the screen to a rear window.They left the scene on bicycles northbound on New Hyde Park Road. The subjects are described as: Hispanic male teens. One was wearing a black and red shirt, and carrying a black backpack. The other wore dark clothing and a black backpack. No proceeds at this time. The event was witnessed by the homeowner who was in another room during the incident.
June 15: A Garden city man reported the loss of his wallet on Seventh Street. The wallet contained $10 and credit cards.
June 15: A Dell laptop computer valued at $1,500 was stolen from an office at Adelphi University.
June 15: A Commercial Vehicle Inspection was conducted on New Hyde Park Road, where 10 vehicles were inspected. Seven were placed out of service, and 59 tickets were issued for traffic and safety violations.
June 15: Garden City detectives observed a vehicle traveling in Parking Field 9E when it pulled into a parking space with its lights off and the operator crouching down in the driver’s seat in an apparent effort to avoid detection. Upon their investigation, the driver, a 31-year-old man from Elmont, was arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation for having a open driver license suspension.
June 16: At approximatel 4 p.m., Officer Oswald observed a vehicle backing unsafely north on Meadow Street in violation of one-way signs and with its headlights off. Upon an investigation, the driver, a 23-year-old man from Hempstead, was arrested for DWI drugs, DWI (refused testing), felony possession of cocaine for possessing several bags of cocaine and crack/cocaine., unlawful possession of marijuana, driving the wrong way, unsafe backing, no headlights and uninsured operation.
June 17: Two male subjects removed numerous packages of over-the-counter drugs from Walgreens Pharmacy and fled the scene without paying for them.
June 19: Unknown person(s) entered a Meadow Street residence and removed a gaming system, a laptop computer and assorted jewelry. The entry point into the residence is unknown at this time.
