Sexual Assault Arrest Made At Adelphi University

GARDEN CITY, NY — An arrest was made at Adelphi University over the weekend for sexual assault, although details on the incident are scarce.

The sexual assault arrest was made at Earle Hall early Sunday morning, school officials said in a letter sent to the university community. No information was released about who was arrested or why.

“The health and safety of our students and entire campus community is Adelphi University’s foremost priority," said Adelphi Spokesperson Todd Wilson. "We continue to cooperate with the ongoing police investigation. Beyond the communications sent out to our community yesterday, we cannot comment any further at this time and refer questions to the police. "

Nassau County police said the Garden City Police Department was heading the investigation.

"At this time it’s an active investigation, and for the victim’s sake, we are not releasing any pertinent information," Garden City Police Commissioner Kenneth Jackson said in a statement.
