Six Items on Tonight's Village Board Agenda
See what the village's Board of Trustees will be discussing at tonight's meeting.

The Garden City village board of trustees meets at 8 p.m. in the village hall boardroom to discuss a full agenda. Here are six items included in the online agenda for Thursday:
1. Proclamation: Mayor John Watras, on behalf of the board, is expected to present a village proclamation to village resident Janet Curtin, who retired Aug. 1 after 45 years with Nassau/Winthrop-University Hospital, hired just after graduating college and receiving a nursing degree, according to village clerk Brian Ridgway.
2. Fee Schedule Amendment: The board is expected to amend the village's fee schedule with regards to non-resident parking at the Stewart Manor railroad station.
3. Cathedral Nursery School Agreement: Trustees are expected to act on a renewal agreement with Cathedral Nursery School, which leases the cottages on the St. Paul's campus. The current lease expires June 30, 2014. School officials are requesting renewal of the agreement to expire June 30, 2015.
4. Village Yard Boiler Replacement: Trustees are being asked to award a bid to Best Climate Control Corp. of Bohemia at a cost of $80,092 to replace the boiler at the Village Yard.
5. Library Board Request: Garden City Library board chair Randy Colahan is requesting the village board transfer $32,000 in unused State Retirement System funds from last year's budget to this year's in order to restore Sunday hours of operation at the library come mid-October. 6. Roller Rink Dasher Boards: Trustees are being asked to accept a $91,500 maintenance bond to allow Riley Manufacturing, Inc. to install dasher boards at the new roller rink.
