Spanish Students Once Again Walk Away Winners

Each winner received a medal and a certificate indicating their placement in the LILT Student Foreign Language Competition.

For another straight year, Garden City students in Marie Nuzzi’s Spanish classes walked away winners in the LILT (Long Island Language Teachers) Student Foreign Language Competition.

Once again, they received first, second, and third place awards in every category they entered, along with numerous Honorable Mention certificates.

The categories included Original Poetry, Original Essay, International Vocal Music, and Language Production Video. The competition is open to all school districts in Nassau and Suffolk counties, and this year there were over 500 entries, an impressive record number.

Ms. Nuzzi encourages her students to participate because she knows they have the potential to win. “We work hard all year, and I know they are extremely prepared. And once they see the results, they realize how much they have truly learned and how competent they are. I am very proud of each and every one of my students!” she said.

To acknowledge their wonderful achievement, each winner received a medal and a certificate indicating their placement in the competition.
