SUV Flips Near Merillon Avenue Train Station
The collision injured at least four and shut down traffic near the Merillon Avenue train trestle.
At least four people were injured late Thursday afternoon in a head-on collision on Nassau Boulevard near Atlantic Avenue on the Garden City border.
An SUV impacted a Jeep SUV and flipped over onto its roof, skidding onto the eastern side of Nassau Boulevard just north of the train trestle at about 3:30 p.m. The impact of the crash caused one SUV to overturn, trapping the driver.
Firefighters, Garden City and Nassau County police and EMS units were all on the scene.
Nassau Boulevard remained closed in both directions at the Merillon Avenue train station for at least an hour.
It is unknown at this time if speed was a factor in the crash.
