HAUPPAUGE, NY — In honor of Earth Day on April 22, second graders at Forest Brook Elementary School in the Hauppauge School District took part in a recycling challenge.

Students were tasked with creating something useful with a box, using an additional five other recycled materials to build with.

Students came up with imaginative designs such as a plastic bottle car, flower vase, piggy bank, cereal dispenser, guitar and more. They were first asked to draw and label their final design before building.
