3 Hurt, 1 Seriously, In 3-Car LIE Crash
Police have released details on a crash Thursday evening that sent three to the hospital, including a 2-year-old boy.

ISLANDIA, NY – A woman was seriously injured and two others, including a 2-year-old boy, suffered non-life threatening injuries in a three-car crash on the Long Island Expressway Thursday evening.
According to Suffolk Police, 28-year-old Juan Rodas was driving a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country on the westbound LIE in Islandia when he struck the rear of a 2017 Ford Escape being driven by a woman at about 5:30 p.m. The Ford Escape then struck a 2017 Hyundai Sonata being driven by Laverne Brown.
The woman driving the Ford Escape was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital in serious condition. Her name is being withheld pending notification to her family. A male passenger in her vehicle was not injured.

Rodas, of Medford, and his 2-year-old son were transported to Stony Brook with non-life threatening injuries. Brown, 46, of Bay Shore, and her male passenger were not injured.
All three vehicles were impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information on this crash is asked to call Fourth Squad detectives at 631-854-8452. No criminal charges have been filed.
