Fran Cook Hair Styling Competition
Eastern Suffolk BOCES cosmetology students will display their hair designing skills that include fantasy and evening do’s at the annual Fran Cook Cosmetology competition at the Hyatt Hotel (1717 Motor Parkway, Hauppauge) Monday at 6 p.m. There is a $10 donation to go toward scholarships.

Learn About America's First Ladies
Friends of the Arts will present historian Elizabeth Kaplan, who will speak about the United States presidents ‘wives from New York State. School Budget Hearing
The Hauppauge Board of Education will hold an open meeting and budget hearing May 7 at 8 p.m. in the James Baxter Board Room of the Whiporwil building. The 2013-14 school budget was adopted April 16. No further changes can be made.
