[PHOTOS] 3 Firefighters Hurt Battling Hicksville Blaze

The resident who escaped the fire is getting assistance from the Red Cross.

Three firefighters were injured from battling a house fire in Hicksville on Wednesday morning, police say.

The Hicksville Fire Department responded to a King Street home to find the house fully engulfed in flames at 12:30 a.m.

A 61-year-old man who lives in the home was able to escape without injury. The Red Cross is providing assistance for the resident.

Three members of the Hicksville Fire Department were taken to a nearby hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries and released, police say.

Nassau County Fire Marshall and the Nassau County Police Department Arson/Bomb Squad also responded to scene and determined the fire to be non-suspicious.
