Crisis Center Opens In Hicksville, 24/7 Care, Support
"This center is located in a community where cultural norms often discourage seeking mental health or substance use care."

HICKSVILLE, NY — The CN Guidance Community Crisis Center opened in December in Hicksville.
Sharayah Sanon, Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and Program Director, said it is important to have another crisis center on Long Island.
"Long Island’s large and diverse population means mental health and substance use crises can occur at any time," Sanon said.

The Community Crisis Center can provide walk-in support without appointments to those who may need it. Sanon said this offers a "critical alternative to emergency rooms that can help prevent self-harm, violence, or worsening conditions."

The Hicksville location could be a benefit to Long Island, according to Sanon.

"This center is located in a community where cultural norms often discourage seeking mental health or substance use care," Sanon said. "Having this resource right in their own neighborhood makes access easier and support more attainable."

Its goal is to provide compassionate and immediate care, Sanon said. The center is open at all hours and days of the week.
"During a crisis, finding help can feel overwhelming and confusing," she said. "That’s why the CCC is open 24/7, 365 days a year. This is care you can count on."
The center serves anyone ages 5 years and older, whether they arrive voluntarily, are brought by family, friends, law enforcement, or a mobile crisis unit, Sanon said.

"Our mission is to provide immediate stabilization and care, eliminating the long waits often experienced in hospital emergency departments, which can exceed 10 hours," Sanon said.
According to Sanon, the center has 24-hour nursing staff and support and recovery-focused treatment. Some of the treatment can include services like health status monitoring, care coordination, mental health evaluation, medication management, outpatient detox, and medication-assisted treatment for substance use disorders, Sanon said.

The CN Guidance Community Crisis Center is located at 950 South Oyster Bay Road in Hicksville. The center opened on Dec. 6, 2025, with a ribbon-cutting event on Dec. 5. More information can be found online.
