
A homeless teen was arrested on Monday for robbing a Westbury gas station in July, police say.
According to authorities, Dakota E. Stafford, 16, entered Gulf Gas Station, located at 2 Old Country Road, approached an employee, motioned that he had a gun in his pocket and demanded cash as well as the employee's wallet at 1:06 a.m. on Thursday, July 20.
The 47-year-old employee handed over the wallet, an iPhone and an undetermined amount of cash. Stafford fled on foot south on Maple Street, police say.

No injuries were reported.
Stafford was located by detectives while he was at First District Court in Hempstead for an unrelated charge that occurred in Freeport. He was charged with first-degree robbery and will be arraigned Tuesday at First District Court.
