LI Gas Station Owner Fights Man With Knife Over Parking Spaces: Police
Daljit Singh faces charges that include second-degree assault from the Wednesday afternoon altercation, police said.
FRANKLIN SQUARE, NY — A man was arrested on Wednesday afternoon for an assault that started because of a dispute over parked vehicles on his Franklin Square property, police said.
Daljit Singh. 58, of Hicksville, who owns the OK Gas Station on New Hyde Park Road, got into a dispute with a neighboring business, police said.
As the argument escalated, Singh struck the other man, 64, with a small knife on his neck and arm. Singh was arrested without incident, authorities said.

The victim suffered two small lacerations and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Singh is charged first-degree attempted assault, second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was expected to be arraigned on Thursday.
