LI Man In Custody After Being Caught With Drugs, Explosives: Police
Anthony Gianatiempo was arraigned on Wednesday, police said.
HICKSVILLE, NY — A Hicksville man, who was found in possession of drugs, was placed under arrest, police said.
Anthony Gianatiempo, 34, was taken into custody following an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration New York's Long Island Task Force, police said.
Gianatiempo was found to be in possession of 59 pills, believed to be pressed fentanyl, 47 pills believed to be pressed methamphetamine and 10 glass vials containing a liquid believed to be fentanyl, police said.

During the course of the investigation at Gianatiempo's residence, detectives came across multiple devices which appeared to be explosives, police said. The Nassau County Arson Bomb Squad responded and removed five devices along with 25 one-pound containers of smokeless gun powder and one eight-pound container of smokeless gun powder. Detectives also recovered 750 grams of a substance believed to be fentanyl, 190 grams of a substance believed to be cocaine and 200 grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine, authorities said.
Gianatiempo faces charges that include five counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance 3 rd Degree, fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, first-degree criminal possession of a weapon, one count of explosives storage and one count of explosives, licenses and certificates, police said.

He was arraigned on Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
