Police say the man had the knife attached to a PVC pole and was waving it around. No one was injured.
HICKSVILLE, NY — A man was arrested on Friday after police say he was found waving a knife around at a church fair.
According to police, as part of the department's increased patrols around houses of worship, a deputy inspector saw a man waving around a PVC pipe with a knife attached to it at the Holy Trinity Greek Fair at 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 10.
The inspector told the man —61-year-old Gabriel Santiago-Cruz — to drop the pole, which he did. Officers responded to the scene and placed Santiago-Cruz under arrest without incident.
