New Cassel Man Arrested After Trying To Stab Woman: Police
The woman was not injured, Nassau police said.
NEW CASSEL, NY — A 68-year-old man tried to stab a woman in a New Cassel home on Friday night, Nassau police said.
Officers were called to a disturbance involving a 68-year-old man and 67-year-old woman at around 11 p.m. on Friday, police said adding that the man had displayed a knife and "made unsuccessful attempts to stab the woman multiple times before breaking various household items."
The woman escaped injury, police said.

The man has been charged with first-degree attempted assault, second-degree menacing, and fourth-degree criminal mischief.
He pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead and his bail was set at $3,000 cash or $6,000 bond, according to online court records.

A temporary order of protection was issued, records show.
