Police Seek Info In New Cassel Hit-And-Run
Authorities are looking to identify the driver, who fled the scene, leaving a critically injured pedestrian in the roadway.

Nassau County Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's help to identify the hit-and-run driver who struck and critically injured a pedestrian in New Cassel on Sunday, Oct. 7.
According to authorities, a 61-year-old man fell into the roadway near 577 Broadway and was struck by a dark-colored minivan traveling eastbound, near the intersection of Malaney Avenue, at 8:07 p.m.
The vehicle fled the scene and traveled eastbound without attempting to render aid or call 911.

Authorities were notified after the pedestrian was found by a passerby. The 61-year-old man remains hospitalized, police say.
Detectives request anyone with information regarding this incident or who may know the identity of the subject to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
