Repeat Nassau Robber Arrested After Failed Heist: Police
A store clerk was pistol-whipped during the attempted robbery, police say.

One of the two men who tried to rob a Westbury store at gunpoint on Tuesday morning was found to have committed several robberies across Nassau County this month, police say.
According to authorities, Jahmani Harleston, 19, of Brentwood, and D’Andre Dogostiano, 18, of Rockville Centre, entered 7-Eleven, located at 760 Old Country Road, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the clerk at 3:02 p.m. Police say one of the robbers pistol whipped the clerk, knocking him to the floor.
Harleston and Dogostiano fled the store empty handed, police say.

The clerk, a 58-year-old man, was treated at the scene by a police medic.
An investigation led to the arrest of Harleston and Dogostiano.

Police say further investigation also revealed Harleston was involved in several other robberies in February:
- Sunday, Feb. 4– Green Gas Station, located at 2 Hempstead Ave. in Hempstead
- Tuesday, Feb. 6– Fast Break Deli, located at 1066 Merrick Ave. in N. Merrick. (Attempt)
- Tuesday, Feb. 6– 7-Eleven, located at 324 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre
- Tuesday, Feb. 6– Sunoco Gas Station, located at 1220 Hempstead Turnpike in Uniondale
- Monday, Feb. 12– 7-Eleven, located at 333 Oak St. in Uniondale.
Harleston was charged with four counts of first-degree robbery, two counts of attempted robbery, first-degree criminal possession of a weapon and criminal use of a firearm.
Dogostiano was charged with attempted first-degree robbery and second-degree attempted robbery.
Both men will be arraigned on Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
